32nd Annual Event

October 18, 2008
There's one special day every fall when the colors are so bright and the air is chilled just right. As the Smoky Mountain haze begins to lift, the smell of hot chocolate and coffee begins to drift. Tents go up, tables are set, some with souvenirs so you won't forget. The harvest is in. The cooking is ready to begin!
Bands arrive, the drumming starts. A cadence to cover the pounding of their hearts as they take the field for competition. It's the one day that, if you listen, these hills almost speak. Which bands will be worthy to reach the coveted peak?
It's the Smoky Mountain Invitational Marching Band Competition. Join us on Saturday, October 18 at Billy K. Nicely Stadium on the campus of South-Doyle High School for the 32nd annual event. Great food, friendly atmosphere, and the best high school marching bands you'll ever see gathered in one place!
Make your plans NOW to be there. The first band steps off at 1:30pm. The South-Doyle Marching Cherokee Band will close the event with an exhibition show at 7:15. The awards ceremony is at 7:45. Click here for the complete schedule.
